Artwork Specs
The quality of artwork to be reproduced determines
the quality of the decals produced. If the artwork provided is unsuitable
or is in need of modification to improve the quality of the decal produced,
an art charge will be applied.
Art charges apply depending on the art submitted for reproduction. If
camera-ready artwork is provided there will be no additional art charges.
If film positives are provided and no additional adjustments are necessary,
there will be no additional art charges.
Minimum Line Weights
The recommended line weights for a white substrate
is .5 points or greater. For a dark substrate the weight should be .75
points or greater.
Half-Tones
An image is considered to have half-tones if any
gradations (i.e. from light to dark or vice-versa) or small dots are
present. Please call (562) 434-2711 for additional requirements.
Camera Ready
Camera-ready art is described as follows: Artwork
that is ready to be placed on the camera where only size might need
adjustment is considered camera-ready. Anything appearing on the artwork
should be expected to be on the decals. Therefore artwork should be
clean, unfolded, wrinkle, tape, and staple-free. If printing artwork
from a computer file, please use a high resolution laser printer. The
image should be printed in black toner and on white paper.
Multi Color Seps
Artwork is considered separated when each color of
the image is "separated" onto a separate piece of paper or
film. Each separated color must appear in black and should be labeled
accordingly. If printing separations from a computer file, please use
a high resolution laser printer. The separations should be printed in
black toner and on white paper. Overlapping of colors should be avoided
except when trapping is required. Trapping is suggested in order to
ensure good registration. Trapping varies from design to design. It
is recommended that the trapping be between .5 and 1.0 points.
